Aztecs astrology

Astrology and the study of human destiny were also practiced by the Aztecs. In Mexico, they constitute the most numerous Indian people. According to researchers of pre-Columbian cultures, the Aztecs already knew the principles of putting horoscopes at least half a century before the discovery of America. The stellar forecasts of the Aztecs were distinguished by their precision compared to those arranged in Europe or the Far East at the time. According to the Aztec horoscope, forecasts applied to those born in a given year, in periods of ten days, since that was more or less how much a given sign of that Zodiac covered. European forecasts, as we know, referred to births in a given month, when the Sun was in one of the subsequent signs of the Zodiac. The Aztec calendar was quite complicated, but more accurate than the one used today. The year was divided into 18 months of 20 days each and 5 days, so-called "extra days," considered to be ferocious. Every 4 years, the number of extra days was increased to 6. A year in the Aztec calendar had 365.25 days in a 4-year cycle. Years were counted within a 52-year cycle. Each year, month, week, day, and even hours, had its protector from among the numerous Aztec deities.According to Aztec beliefs, the years were looked after by four gods, i.e. the God of Air - Quetzalcoatl, the God of Sun - Huitzilopochtli, the God of Rain - Tlaloc, and the God of Stars - Tezcatlipok.

The luckiest people were supposed to be those who were born in the year of the reign of the Air God. In this century, the years are: 1903, 1907, 1911, 1915, 1919, 1923, 1927, 1931, 1935, 1939, 1943, 1947, 1951, 1955, 1959, 1963, 1967, 1971, 1975, 1979, 1983, 1987, 1991, 1995, 1999.

These people are the luckiest in both private and social life. They are characterized by a sharp mind and a thirst for knowledge. This can favor them in achieving high positions in the social or state hierarchy. The Air God is especially favorable to those involved in science and teaching. This deity is benevolent to poets, artists and those who find their happiness in personal matters.

Born in the years of the reign of the Sun God , viz. in: 1900, 1904, 1908, 1912, 1916, 1920, 1924, 1928, 1932, 1936, 1940, 1944, 1948, 1952, 1956, 1960, 1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, 1980, 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996, 2000, etc., endows one with a strong personality, an independent freedom-loving nature, the ability to experience great passions, a tendency to sudden sympathies and antipathies and to go against established conventions.

The God of Rain, patronizing the years: 1901, 1905, 1905, 1909, 1913, 1917, 1921, 1925, 1929, 1933, 1937, 1941, 1945, 1949, 1953, 1957, 1961, 1965, 1969, 1973, 1977, 1981, 1985, 1989, 1993, 1997, bestows on his subjects success in material affairs and prosperity for life. They are served by their health, cheerful disposition and kindness to their surroundings.

According to the predictions of Aztec priests, the most difficult fate was to befall people born during the years of the Star God's reign, i.e . in this century in: 1902, 1906, 1910, 1914, 1918, 1922, 1926, 1930, 1934, 1938, 1942, 1946, 1950, 1954, 1958, 1962, 1966, 1970, 1974, 1978, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994 and 1998. In life, they are faced with changing turns of fate. Their high sensitivity and nervousness cause them to strongly experience spiritual crises. The wards of the God of the Stars are often artists, people who have something to do with art. This is because they are endowed with a rich sense of observation and a vivid imagination, as well as a sensitivity to beauty in every form.
